@andstillrise @ThemysciranLady @HobbitGirl7 @Stewart4Hobbies @libgrammylee @KSTP I don’t typically mention anything as an “excuse” for sociopathic behavior b/c I don’t believe in excuses in general, but I do think she was probably abused at least emotionally (if not physically & sexually too) b/c she’s married to a sociopath. None of that is an excuse though.
@andstillrise @ThemysciranLady @HobbitGirl7 @Stewart4Hobbies @libgrammylee @KSTP She chose to stay married to said sociopath b/c it kept her living the life she lives, whether it involves abuse or not is moot b/c we wouldn’t even be discussing her if she wasn’t provocatively divorcing him b/c he executed a person on camera. Her brother is a murderer too. 🕵🏾‍♀️
@andstillrise @ThemysciranLady @HobbitGirl7 @Stewart4Hobbies @libgrammylee @KSTP Given what we know about sociopaths and killer cops, it stands to reason that as an SE Asian woman in that midst she incurred both abuse and paradoxical protection from her abusers. Very Stockholm Syndrome like, she could simultaneously be a victim and a conspirator/perpetrator.

@artkincell @RickSmithShow Wow, Robin was a badass. 🥰🤩 Just thinking of y’all as middle school kids taking on such a huge responsibility and struggle, it says so much about the sociopolitical climate that kids so young felt the need to join the ranks. Y’all helped pave a way for the next generation.
@artkincell @RickSmithShow It also makes me think about how the Rodney King beating/riots happened when I was in middle school. I honestly don’t recall us feeling like we had to join the protest movement as kids, we knew it was awful but we also still had confidence in grown-ups. Today’s kids are y’all. 😢
@artkincell @RickSmithShow This is also why Gen X/Oregon Trail folk are mad as hell right now, we grew up benefiting from the slow progress of the civil rights movement. We benefited from our parents’ resistance & activism but now our kids already have a harder childhood than we did as latch key kids. 🥴🤬

@AhNahChedz Excellent question and this is gonna be a multi-tweet answer but let’s start here: White supremacy is enshrined into the American Constitution and we haven’t yet amended it fully or properly enough to right damn near 600 YEARS of wrongs. *More* wrong is being done by the minute.
@AhNahChedz Beyond that, despite the sordid, genocidal history of White supremacy in America, our government had the unmitigated nerve and gall to have NOT classified it as terrorism until AFTER the El Paso shooting. Denial, fragility, habitual lies and COMPLICITY.

@AhNahChedz It then follows that b/c America’s failed to even classify White supremacist hate crimes as domestic terrorism it’s ALSO failed to classify the police state that descended from slave patrols as terrorism too. It’s a centuries old conspiracy in service of SYSTEMATIC OPPRESSION.👺

Acknowledging that a woman might be or is battered doesn’t mean we all have to suddenly take pity on her or feel sorry for the situation she *willfully put her own self in*. Deplorable is a choice for far too many people.
@andstillrise @ThemysciranLady @HobbitGirl7 @Stewart4Hobbies @libgrammylee @KSTP I deal with this in my job so I guess I just see dysfunction differently and don’t really feel much of anything for any individual “just b/c” their story is terrible. Plenty of people have terrible stories but don’t turn into sociopaths, enablers and sycophants. No sympathy here.
@andstillrise @ThemysciranLady @HobbitGirl7 @Stewart4Hobbies @libgrammylee @KSTP Case in point, folk always accuse me of attempting to engender sympathy for DT by discussing his mental status as if the science forces any of us to feel anything about the subjects it describes. Having a mental illness doesn’t confer sympathy any more than having diabetes does.
