What the Prosecco-drinking doomster/gloomster/snowflakes who predict 2nd and 3rd surges don't understand is that we hold all the cards in this battle, with our "world-beating" tracing system and our status as "international buyer of choice" for PPE.
The doomsters moaned and cried big tears that it would be "Armageddon" if we didn't lock down early, but look outside? Do you see Armageddon? No! Our brilliant NHS coped, didn't it?

But STILL they moan, inventing "65,000 deaths", etc. You lost, lockdown moaners! Get over it!
Lesser countries can only look at how we've taken back control from the virus and weep (behind their scaredy-cat masks) at their own Johnny-foreigner ineptitude.
(No doubt they yearn for a Great British tracing app like ours, murkily gathering lots of personal data and operating centrally, not like the open-source, data-decentralised, internationally-accepted Apple/Google approach they'll all be stuck with.)
And though we are global leaders in the fight against the virus - with more people involved per capita than pretty much any other country - still the doomsters say we should stay inside! What is it about the fact that 99% of transmissions occur inside that they don't understand?
Imagine if we'd "stayed at home" during the War!
Instead of cowering inside, as they would have us do, we should be stepping up and stepping out onto the world stage, taking the lead; global Britain, proudly embracing opportunities and neighbours alike. (Not EU neighbours, obs.)
They complain that the lockdown rules aren't clear but then they say Dom Cummings clearly broke them! Which is it, then? You can't have both!

What they don't get is that British people have something called common sense, and don't need to get hung up on rules anyway.
They have this naive idea that we need the same rules for everybody. Since when did we become a "one size fits all" country? (And don't these guys harp on about diversity?)

Each citizen can make their own choice; it's not as if one individual's choices will affect anybody else.
To the snowflakes I say this: there are only 137,000 infected people in the UK at the moment - what are they going to do? Run around infecting a thus-far unaffected population of 60 million? They'd better have long legs!
Bottom line: stop worrying! The virus needs us more than we need the virus. Literally. If it helps, think of it this way: we literally buy 100% of Covid's Prosecco. The virus, in the end, will have to accept our terms.

So relax, doomsters. This is the easiest deal in history.
