THREAD: Russian propaganda outlet Sputnik just revealed that fugitive oligarch Oleksandr Onyshchenko is the source of the Derkach tapes. He claims his lawyer passed the tapes to Derkach & admits he's working with the Trump admin to leak additional tapes this September (!). <1/5>
"Sputnik: So your lawyers had the recordings all this time? Are there any more of them?
Oleksandr Onyshchenko: Yes, there are more. The Trump administration will make use of them again in September...closer to elections, they will begin to use them more." <2/5>
Al Jazeera reported in a bombshell documentary in 2018 that Onyshchenko conspired with Pavel Fuchs to purchase frozen assets from the Viktor Yanukovych clan, and to launder those same assets into Western financial institutions via Deutsche Bank. <3/5> aljazeera.com/investigations…
Fuchs, a co-developer of Trump's Moscow Tower, is an associate of Rudy Giuliani. So just to recap: Al Jazeera reports Rudy's associate was working with fugitive oligarch Onyshchenko to launder hundreds of millions in frozen Yanukovych assets bought from a Russian tycoon. <4/5>
And now, this same group of oligarchs tied to Trump and Giuliani are leaking tapes of unknown provenance to try to undermine a US political campaign. The very same people alleged to have been involved in a massive money laundering scheme in Ukraine. <5/5>

I've been asked what I expect from Russia in 2019.
Here's my top 10 list of events to watch out for (not in any particular order of probability) 👇
#1 A military incursion into Ukraine. The most likely target is the canal that feeds fresh water from the Dnieper river to Crimea. Without this water, Crimea's agricultural sector goes under. Also look for Russia to seek complete dominance over the Sea of Azov and Kerch Strait.
#2 A military flare-up in Nagorno-Karabakh if Prime Minister Pashinyan does not cater to corrupt Russian interests in Armenia.
