Remember when containing the spread was a moral imperative of the highest order? When even to argue for a less strict lockdown in American cities was to defend the sacrifice of countless human lives at the altar of capitalism?
I cannot find anyone arguing that the protests should stop until the pandemic is contained. I think people would be afraid to argue that as it would seem to devalue the moral cause of the protests. But that of course shows how the pandemic was never taken seriously in America
