4) If we are lucky, the ongoing protest movement could permanently elevate the urgency and importance of confronting not only racist police violence but also the deep racial injustice in this country, which is currently being exacerbated by the pandemic & deep recession
5) Just as, most recently, the occupy movement put economic inequality on the US political agenda in an unprecedented way
6) We will need a new government in order to make progress on any of these issues. But what is happening right now may have a serious and positive influence on what the next government actually does
