They just announced they are all heading to Frankford and Girard. One dude yells “there are no rules tonight!”
One guy tells a cop: “im not here to make your job harder. I want to protect you.” A guy in a trump hat raised his fist and greeted his friend by saying “white man!”
Confrontation mounting w protestors who have “I can’t breathe sign”
Cop talking to white guy with a bat: “what are [the I can’t breathe] protestors doing? They’ve been trying to start shit all fucking day. They must be drunk”
The group was in disarray walking up and down Girard. There looked like there were going to be confrontations, but the police stepped in. Since this is a pro-cop demonstration I think there’s some cognitive dissonance going on. It’s thinned and now on Montgomery off Girard.
Ok they just mobilized toward Girard again.

cops arrived ready to disperse the crowd. they turned around and headed toward the counter protest (the “I can’t breathe” side)
a lot of talk on the bat-brandishing side about “this is our neighborhood.” what I’m overhearing now is more anti-hipster/gentrification.

this guy was alleged to have had a hatchet and booked it after being spotted
he was arrested saying a bat was thrown at him. a relative or friend was nearby crying for him.

this lady from the “I can’t breathe side” started yelling “fuck you” to a group of about 20 bat-wielders and they erupted into applause
