I encourage people who've never seen it before to check out the crowdsourced hkmap.live (@hkmaplive) for an example of how to help protesters and residents stay safe in the presence of aggressive police units. Apple banned it in Hong Kong; will they ban it in the US?
The map shows the following, fading the icons with time, based on crowdsourced reports:

- Large concentrations of police
- Road/transit closures
- Special riot police detachments
- Water cannon
- Active use of tear gas.

This is a good tech project to work on for American cities
