1)There were assaults on Staff in at least 3 Scottish Emergency Departments over the weekend. Didn't take long for the clapping to stop.
2) This is unacceptable and shows a disgusting attitude towards a service which is still taking personal risk to provide a safe service for patients
3) For a brief period, we felt that we were all working together, and patients were starting to appreciate that they could also think about using the NHS in a sensible way
4) But the behaviour of the Scottish Public over the weekend, having been given the false message (not by Scottish politicians right enough) has done more damage to the morale and mental health of staff then the virus did.
5) The virus hasn't gone away, the service the NHS and social can provide will never be the same unless you can magically reverse years of austerity. There are consequences to all of these choices
6)But the message to staff in Scottish ED has been "we care more about drinking and violence" than dealing with reality, and if you don't like this we'll batter you. Nice.
