2/ Lancet: “We are issuing an Expression of Concern to alert readers to the fact that serious scientific questions have been brought to our attention... important scientific questions have been raised about data” in the paper...
3/ New England Journal of Medicine: “substantive concerns have been raised about the quality of the information in that database. We have asked the authors to provide evidence that the data are reliable.”

Sen @JohnCornyn tells @mkraju that the protesters had to be cleared out "for security purposes" since Trump was "walking over to the church" and they were asked to clear "but refused to do so."

"So obviously, it was a necessary security measure.”
2/ to @mkraju, Cornyn rejected the notion that they were acting peacefully since they can't "ignore what law enforcement officers are telling them to do for the security of the president or anybody else."
3/ Cornyn criticized the media and others who are "never going to find any good or any positive development in anything. So you can characterize it the way you want, but obviously the president is free to go where he wants and to hold up a Bible if he wants.”

There’s too muc violence to even absorb. It’s soul crushing. But re law enforcement attacks on and arrests of journalists, I keep thinking of what Gov Walz said when apologizing for the unjust and frankly idiotic arrest of @OmarJimenez and his crew... 1/3
2/ “The issue here is trust. The community there that’s terrorized by this, if they see a reporter being arrested, the assumption is that something’s going to happen that they don’t want to be seen. And so that is unacceptable.”
3/ these attacks are unjust and hideous for any number of reasons including violations of First Amendment protections but that stuck with me.
