Trauma, like grief, comes in stages. Phase 1 is an outpouring, an autonomic hemorrhage, a response to shock-like that of seeing a murder in real-time. Phase 2 is a reckoning-what can be done? This is where constructive action, new/unexpected alliances, change can begin.
What are those alliances?
I cant help but think about how man people are not served by the status quo. White supremacy sucks for many white ppl, as my work and that of others has shown. Predatory policing prob makes being a police officer a pretty awful job for ppl who went into it to help communities

The possibility for taking down the new jim crow has never - been more possible. But also for re-building a system that 'works' better for multiple shareholders, rather than pitting everyone against each other
Basically cant stop thinking how, if racism is (also) structural, then anti-racism needs to be structural as well; and that anti-racist structures and the dismantling of racist structures - would benefit many, many people in a society like the us
Think, eg, about democratizing healthcare, education, employment, access to information, etc -these all make society stronger, and better able to address complex problems like a pandemic, or systemic violence, etc
I have no idea, but I would guess that being of/for the community rather than vs the community would make police work a better job
