Hey all. I have a brand new song that came out today. When I set the date for the distribution of this song, I obviously had no idea what all would be going on right now. But here we are, and it's the beginning of Pride month. (1/5) 
I view this song as a love letter sent to us from the LGBT community of the '80s. As the COVID-19 pandemic was starting, a gay friend was telling me about living through the AIDS pandemic. (2/5)
He wanted to see the LGBT community inspire the world as it dealt with its current fears. That beautiful idea lead to "1984," a song of unity and rising to the occasion, which I hoped to release during this year's Pride month. (3/5)
Fifty years ago, the first Pride march commemorated the anniversary of the Stonewall Riots, which erupted over police violence against LGBT citizens. Today, police brutality is again causing protests that hope to disrupt a system killing Black citizens. (4/5)
A few days before I finished this song, Larry Kramer (AIDS activist and fighter for the LGBT community) died. In his memory, may we Act Up and Fight Back. Happy Pride Month. ❤️🧡💛💚💙💜 (5/5)
