Remember that the correct answer to any question posed by a cop or an FBI agent is "I refuse to say anything without my lawyer."
There is some controversy about whether the US government actually used the phrase "premature antifascist" to describe people who were actively antifascist in the 1930s, especially those who volunteered to fight fascism in Spain.
Whether or not the phrase was used officially, it is known that the US military denied commissions to people who would otherwise have been officers in World War II on the basis of their antifascist activities before the war.
(My grandfather was proud of describing how being denied his commission after finishing Officer Candidate School saved his life because all the other members of his OCS class were commissioned and then died leading charges.)
To be obvious about it, we should all be anti-fascist. The earlier we take action against fascism the better. That the police and FBI are actively hunting for antifascists suggests, yes, that they are knowingly and proudly fascist.
So, again, the proper response to the police or FBI asking you anything--especially after you've been arrested at a protest--is "I want my lawyer." But: count me as an antifascist. When you come for the other antifascists, please come for me too.
