Advice to all going to UPU or uni after this;

Relax, dont rush. Age is just a number. Take your time.

I was a fast track guy, oversea scholarship, married by 23, two masters degree by 25, worked abroad, now two kids.

After all that, i learn that its ok to go slow.
I dont regret everything I did, its perfectly fine to be productive, and there's hikmah in Allah's fate for me. After all I am glad I got married and I love my kids.

But I wish I could've done the same thing with less time constraints, less pressure, especially from myself.
When I started my first internship, I met a guy who graduated from France. It took him 7 years to finish his engineering degree. He probably got married close to 30. He turned out ok. Great guy.
I know a young lady who graduated okay, jumped between different jobs to figure out her career, later went to an ivy league uni at 30, and got married later after that. She loves her current job, has excellent benefits with 6 month maternity leave. She turned out ok.
My colleague joined US coast guard for about 8 years before pursuing his phd, moved three times before his current position. Now he's deputy director of my previous workplace. He turned out pretty good.
I think an important point I want to emphasize is please be flexible with your timelines. We have certain expectations of ourselves, and this is due to us comparing to what everybody else is posting on social media.
We feel that we have to do this by this age, achieve this by that age, and if we're not, then we probably are less worthy. That is absolutely not true. You define your own life. You control how you feel about yourself.
Fact is, many successful people are pretty lost in their 20s and 30s, trying to figure out who they are going to be, making lots of mistakes along the way.
If I can share my personal experience; there's a big cost to fast tracking your life; family and friends.

When you are "hustling", you have to sacrifice time for other people. In my case, I missed so many weddings, birthdays, hari raya, and even funerals when we were abroad.
COVID and 2020 recession is going to disrupt many of your academic plans. But rest assured, it is absolutely fine if your plans dont turn out to be how you imagined it.

Allah has guaranteed your rizq. You just dont know it yet. Have faith in Allah and walk at your own pace.

This week, insyaAllah kita korek ilmu sikit dari bro hilal pasal cara dia end up jadi penulis dan penerbit full time!
