History has shown that when there is a lot of conflict it is easy to slip from orderly democracy into disorderly anarchy and then into autocracy. (1/3) 
For example in the 1930s, four major democracies—Germany, Japan, Italy, and Spain—all went down that path. We need to be careful not to slip that way. (2/3)
