According to this quasi-religious left-collectivist ideology, any and all unequal outcomes for any self-identifiable group, from math proficiency to rates of criminality, can only be attributable to unequal treatment and oppression of members of that group by an unjust society.
A glaring example of such outcome disparity is the undeniably real gaps in arrest, conviction, and incarceration rates among different racial and ethnic groups. Woke religious metaphysics declares that in a just society no group disparities are possible without group oppression.
For woke devotees, the dramatic criminal justice system outcome disparities can *only* be attributable to how police institutions operate relative to different racial groups - because it's impossible that groups of metaphysically equal humans can commit crimes at different rates.
Since dogma says no equal genetic blank slates can be any more or less criminally inclined than any others unless they are driven by oppressive social forces to criminality, an unjust society is necessarily responsible for any excessive violence members of such groups commit.
The blank-slate collectivist-equalitarian religion insists that in a truly fair and just society members of all groups would be arrested, convicted, and incarcerated at virtually the same rates. This is collectivism naked and bare; everyone *must* be equal in all things.
For the woke Left, reality must conform to the equalitarian-collectivist ideal. Any suggestion to the contrary means you are not woke, almost certainly related to Adolf Hitler, and are undoubtedly a card-carrying member in good standing of the KKK - and no doubt have white skin.
Apprehending, convicting, and and incarcerating people based on the actual crimes individuals (of any race) commit is a legal system that the equalitarian mob cannot allow to exist, as it will produce unequal outcomes - the same complaint the mob has with capitalist meritocracy!
