@dburbach In cases like these the reactions from the police/police unions are more game-changing to me than the initial incident. Like our we really supposed to look at this and say, "Yep, solid job there." That seems to be the messages from the resignees.
@dburbach 2/ If the response was, okay, tense moment, we mishandled that. Not saying I'd buy that or that that wld be adequate. But it's at least the suggestion (honest or not) that there's a common understanding of what's okay & what's not. These responses, which really seem common ...
@dburbach 3/ show a fundamental cultural problem that is widespread if not universal. And no, doesn't surprise me. Because over the years i continually to be shocked by the attitude and statemetns of the NYC police unions.
