Feel like I should make a thread of reliable sources of information about the Shukri Abdi case. I’ve seen so many v large accounts sharing information that has not been fact checked. For the sake of the case and Shukri’s story we should stick to the truth. #JusticeForShukriAbdi

Shukri’s mother did indeed report that Shukri was being bullied at the school, but the school failed to properly respond and take her concerns seriously. There were also reports that Shukri was pushed into traffic. theguardian.com/uk-news/2019/j…
Zamzam (Shukri’s mother) said that the police dealt with her harshly the night that Shukri drowned. They were unsympathetic and callous, she thinks because of the fact that Shukri was a young black muslim girl. google.co.uk/amp/s/www.bbc.…
The police prematurely shut the case, calling it a tragic accident but that ultimately nothing untoward had happened. The GMP are still under investigation by the police watchdog the IOPC for making this decision. google.co.uk/amp/s/www.bbc.…
People began to rally and protest at this unjust decision last summer - there were protests in major cities across England calling for justice for Shukri. A team of lawyers were hired and a campaign began to probe the case further that went on for months.
A pre-inquest hearing was set for December, which was followed by a five day inquest that took place at the end of February, which I and a number of journalists attended. The inquest heard evidence from 5 children, and number of witnesses to figure out what happened to Shukri.

I’m so so glad that this story is finally getting the air time it deserves but if you want #JusticeForShukriAbdi then you’re gonna need all the facts. The story is already tragic, you don’t need to add details. And if you’re looking at this story fact check everything!
