There have now been multiple pickups full of police equipment LEAVING the east precinct. Yesterday framed items and boxes were seen leaving. A mobile shredding truck also arrived earlier. #seattleprotest #seattleprotestcomms
If they're abandoning the precincts, they certainly haven't told the residents of the buildings nearby. But they haven't been communicating anything to us this whole time.
My neighborhood spotted a moving truck earlier. That's new.
The department has never seemed particularly concerned about the residents. They're "protecting" Police lives and property. Nothing else.
This has been overall the largest egress of vehicles I've ever seen from here.
Fencing now wrapping the front entrance. Officers and guard had been going in and out that door constantly until today. #seattleprotestcomms #seattleprotest
Again I want to reiterate my strong support for these protestors, regardless of possible risk to my property. But I am worried about my cat.
Additional barricades arriving. #seattleprotest
Police now loading body armor and equipment into what looks like a personal vehicle.
Taking a brief break to grab my real camera equipment.
Barricades starting to wrap around now.
Not sure what these tank trucks are
Tank trucks appear to be for weighing down the barriers with water.
Busses confirmed to be carrying national guard
Camera issues. More to come please hold. (Nikon please fix Snapbridge)
Hey neighbors
For those asking about the shredding truck, it's the same kind you often see at offices. That's where documents you put in shredding bins get picked up. Highly unlikely it's being used to destroy things outside of the norm.
An officer removes a large police badge commemorating the "officer of the year" as they continue to remove valuables and other items from the East Precinct.
Police appear to have taken the "take a sign" sign that was at the sign making station along 11th for the last few nights.
Previous tweet brought to you by the word sign.
Multiple lines of WA National Guard moving in formation as the Seattle PD continue to remove valuables and other items from the East Precinct.
Speaking of diversifying newsrooms, if you're not aware of whats happening at the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, you should be.
Meanwhile, across the street, art goes on.
Seems generally to be slowing down. Officers now carrying snacks out to waiting cars. SFD helping fill the barriers with their shiny new Engine 25 that arrived last week.
For those just tuning in, National Guard is now helping carry things out of the East Precinct. Seems like computers. #seattleprotest
Things sound like they're starting to heat up at 11/Pine. SWAT officer rounding the corner. #seattleprotest
The police bike line has formed up again on Pine.
SWAT Bearcat (armored truck) now moving up from around the corner.
Convoys of police vehicles coming in and out pretty regularly. Officers in their personal cars being escorted out by marked cruisers with lights on.
East Precinct garage now appears to be empty. Fencing and barriers now moved in front.
I now have a few hundred photos of this mural. #seattleprotest
Looks like some homemade riot shields with a ping umbrella painted on the front. Officers seem fascinated by them. #seattleprotest
National Guard has marched out of the intersection. Other officers starting to clear. #seattleprotest
There are now maybe ten or so police cars left here. Plus SWAT.
Pretty much all that's left in the intersection. Only a few cars on either side.
This handwritten sign feels like the perfect representation of everything going on.
I continue to be bad at Twitter. Protestors have taken the intersection. More updates here.
