The main contention Deobandi's have regarding this belief is that they believe the Prophet Peace be upon Him cannot travel the world spiritually or physically and help those with needs.
Look at what Imam Sayuti May Allah be pleased with hin says in his book,

'So learnt from all these narrations and Hadith that the Prophet is alive, body and soul, and He acts with authority and *travels wherever he wishes* in the heavens and the earth'.
Another contention of the Deobandi's is also answered in the above passage.

If it's possible for the angel of death to be at multiple places at once, this is also possible because its within the power of Allah.
The last contention they have is with the Prophet being physically present, they say the Prophet Peace be upon Him cannot leave the grave but in their books Qasim Nanotvi literally leaves his own grave! 🤦♂️ take a look...
In the book, Arwahe Salasa, page 242, written by Ashraf Thanwi, there is an incident of Qasim Nanotvi appearing to Mahmood Hasan in BODILY form.

Another strange incident is narrated in 'Ashrafus Sawaneh' biography of Ashraf Thanwi, where it states Ashraf Thanwi's grandfather came back to visit his family after passing away!

Just to top it off, here Shaykh Yaqoobi explains how the Prophet Peace be upon Him can hear us without angels conveying our message, even if we're on the other side of the world.
Here Shaykh Yaqoobi explains here how the soul of the Prophet and Awliya can travel place to place. He states when we send salawat upon the Prophet we should believe He Peace be upon Him is *present* in front of us.
He explains that The Prophet Peace be upon Him could hear the cracking of the heavens whilst he was on earth and that he even saw the planets through the permission of Allah.
These contentions arise because corrupt sects believe that death somehow removes these attributes from The Prophet. We the Ahlus Sunnah believe death had no such affect on the Prophet.
The meaning of death (mawt) is
مفارقة الروح عن الجسم
'The separation of the soul from the body'.
It is now upon the corrupt sects to prove how death removes these attributes from The Prophet. The Ahlus Sunnah believe death had no such affect on the attributes of the Prophet.
