I really can not stress this enough, but Left wing activists who expended all their political capital defending antisemites in Labour are in no position to start moralising about Starmer’s leadership of the Labour Party.
When it was your turn to be anti-racist, you started drawing up lists of Rabbis, defending defacing the Warsaw Ghetto and attacking victims of racism as smear merchants. You can’t ever climb back on that moral high ground, it’s over.
How are you going to do a 10-Tweet thread on racism while your greatest single contribution to Labour Party history is founding the Chris Williamson Defence League? GTFO of here 🤣

I mean, I have to say it’s absolutely fascinating watching people who know better try and compare Starmer’s donkey field story with, for example, a story about laying a wreath for the men who planned the Munich attacks.

These two men are not the same.
By this point in Corbyn’s leadership we already had antisemitism & foreign policy stories about his past on every tabloid newspaper on a near weekly basis. The Right Wing press can’t do to Starmer what they did to Corbyn because unlike Starmer, Corbyn provided years of ammunition
His supporters aren’t being forced to condemn their man’s past, ignore it, deny it, or defend the indefensible. Those were the only options available in the Corbyn era. The Starmer era is instead filled with universal laughter at the Mail on Sunday’s attempt at a takedown.

If you're wondering why Electronic Intifada haven't tweeted about the Labour Leaks yet, it's because the Labour Left's own defence dossier cites Asa Winstanley as an antisemite.
The document reads in a bizarre way, attempting to shift blame for length of processes on staffers hostile to LOTO, yet praising themselves for taking a year to deal with Winstanley's clear antisemitism. He resigned before Labour even finished his case.
There is so, so much in this document. It's information overload.

Can someone point me to the section in the dossier where a Jewish Labour staffer was interrogated over Israel? Or the private UNITE emails? Or the USB drive full of complaints ordered by LOTO? Or the IHRA stuff? Or the Corbyn defending Williamson bits? I can’t find them 🧐
There is SO MUCH left out of this 860 page document. All of the stuff left out is the stuff that makes LOTO look bad, but I’m sure that’s just a coincidence right?
Interesting to see staffer messages which have nothing to do with antisemitism have sufficiently distracted activists from the looming EHRC investigation, and provided a useful scapegoat for a charge of institutional racism, which is anyone but the people who were in charge.
