Just finished updating the ongoing list of studies, surveys, and reports of racial bias in the criminal justice system. Added 27 new studies. 24 found some sort of racial bias, 2 did not, and 1, oddly, could go in either category.

One of the more compelling/horrifying additions was a meta-analysis of other studies which found that in nearly all aspects of the system, not only are blacks treated worse than whites, but the darker a black person’s skin color, the worse they’re treated, almost on a continuum.
Another takeaway: Study after study after study finds that cops are much more likely to search black people than white people, even though the same studies find that searches of white people are more likely to turn up contraband.
