You made me the Hindu I am today.

~ a thread by awokehindu.
I never asked to be the Hindu I am today. I was just the social product you wanted me to be. Just that product who believed in Hindu Muslim bhai bhai. I used to believe the history u taught me. I used to believe the role of so called freedom fighters in liberation of the country.
I used to believe that yeah maybe Nehru's role as freedom fighter weighs more than Bhagat Singh. I used to believe partition was British's evil. I used to believe Kashmiri Pandits fleed on their own. That 2002 riot was a direct attack on muslim brothers. Just like you taught me.
I never questioned anything. I came to social media and I was served with the same set of lies and propaganda just like you wanted to serve. I digested them too. But things changed. My thinking changed and I started noticing a similar pattern everywhere.
A pattern where a Hindu was always at fault no matter what. Hindu was deliberately framed as a violent, cruel being while the Muslim minority was always framed as victims. Hindus, their religion, the faiths are bashed on media, bollywood, in international media. Why Hindus?i
It was not me we became a bhakt. It was you who made me one. I was not me who became a woke hindu, it was you who made me one and I thank you for that. Now that you've made me one there's no going back. I can never see the things like I used to before, and also I don't want to.
And I am not alone in this. I as a responsible Hindu will fight for the existence of my religion as long as my religion needs me. I know I am not alone in this.
