Shri Narayana :
During Anabasara period , on behalf of Shri Jagannatha , Narayana is worshipped in the form of Pattidian . The deity with a dark complexion is four armed and seated in padmasana in a multi tiered Kunja with lotus shaped capitals and pedestals . (1) #anasara
A large crowned round head , measuring one third of the body from the tip of the forehead to the crossing point of his feet . His four arms slant out from his shoulders ; they are rounded and strong with beautifully crafted hands. (2)

His eyes , topped well carved eyebrows are wide open surrounded by red lines . Emphasis his intense look . Nose & mouth are fleshy and clearly defined with a trimmed white beared and bold flame like moustache. (3)

An U-Shaped tilaka on the forehead with a red dot in the middle ,a smaller one just below it and white tilaka at the root of the nose .
From his large earlobes hang makarakundala and guna are pierced at the top of his ears.

The chest of Narayana is broad and adorned with a number of Ornaments and pearl strings . His sacred thread is flung across his chest and gets concealed under his waist girdle which covers his naval.

He adorns a yellow waist cloth with decorative border and trikacha which passes through his legs and conceals partly the pedestal on which he sits. His ankles and wrists are decorated with anklets and rings. (6)

The u shaped tilaka is also conspicuous on his chest and upper arms .There is a red foot mark on the right chest which is called Sribatscha foot print .The deity weilds Chakra and Sankha on the upper arms whereas on the lower two he holds Padma and Gada.(7)

Narayana wears a rich golden kiriti with leaves emerging as rays and makara issuing at the sides.
His long vanamala consists of Lotus buds and his three tiered green coloured matted locks of hair fly out from either side of his frontal face . (8)

The deity is attended by seven rishis known as Sapta rishi standing in folded hands .
