I know it’s difficult for some folk to see the rationale behind protecting a brand, but it’s value to our food and drink industry is immense. We have an industry target to be worth 30B by 2030, so maintain brand is vital
There are those on both sides who wish to weaponise this issue, but I would urge you not to. The industry employs 350 000 people and brings in over 14B to our economy, by 2030, that should be 1m jobs and 30B£, so see the issue for what it is.
Tesco aren’t doing this for political reasons, they’re doing it to bolster their bottom line, which in itself makes no sense for them, there is clear evidence that shopping habits in Scotland are clearly helped by Scottish branding, and yet 👇
So, before there’s another Union Jack draped pile on, forget about my politics and belief in independence, and consider that this is about protecting the value of an industry I’ve devoted my entire working life to, and #KeepScotlandtheBrand
And finally, this is the Secretary of State for Scotland, part of the team who promised to protect our standards and industry, he voted against the Agri Bill amendment to do just that. Don’t tell me Tory MPs are working on our behalf

So they are more concerned to support 👇
Than Scotlands food and drink industry or farmers. They’ve abandoned our PGIs and ability to market our USP, so let’s get a proper understanding of the issue
