You can’t demand justice for black men and women but then support the maintenance of caste schools for their children. And I don’t want to hear that you can’t involve your children in the fight for racial justice because black families don’t have that choice.
If you know your history, which you probably don’t, so-called apptitude tests have been the go-to for resisting segregation since the massive resistance campaign following the Brown v. Board ruling. It’s just a race-neutral way of maintaining caste.
And that some Asian Americans have bought into it and learned to hyper test prep doesn’t change a thing. Further, even poor Asian students in NYC do not tend to go to the high-poverty, under-resourced schools that serve most black kids.
