It’s almost like the protests have been edited into a quickly accessible and digestible narrative that fits mainstream media’s worldview and is treated like a limited moment until provocative violence enables tension-propelled ratings.
And it’s almost like the moment this movement started resulting in complex, uncomfortable conversations about widespread and real systemic change it moved from live reporting to talking heads who spoke for the protestors until there was destruction to sell to viewers.
It’s time to understand American politics and reality are not as simplistic as they seem and that the media that portrays them has a viewpoint and agenda that isn’t as simple as Left vs. Right, liberal vs. conservative, but is a product all into itself.
