Ok, it’s #gumbo day again. And because the process is bound to educate me, you get to come along. Starts w/@altonbrown’s recipe. Here’s the whisked olive oil + flour, which is in the oven for 90 min. Why? Because most of us don’t have the patience to stove top it w/o burning it.

Specifications matter. Off to the store to get shrimp that aren’t shelled and beheaded. The shrimp I have are too clean. Flavortown, ya know, #gumbo

A brief interlude in the #gumbo effort to see if @DraughtWorks Hand-Rolled IPA goes nicely w/andouille and to make sure the andouille is ok. A chef always tastes their food, right? 😉.
