It seems there are two divergent, mutually exclusive views of justice in the world today.

One says that we correct injustice and battle oppression by fighting to remove injustice and oppression. 1/
The other says that we correct injustice and battle oppression by imposing injustices on those who belong to a previously privileged group and by oppressing those who belong to a previous oppressor class. 2/
The first is God’s view of justice, which commands us to show absolutely no partiality, whether in favor of the poor or the rich (Lev 19:15; cf. Ex 23:3; Jas 2:1-10). We eliminate injustice by treating everyone justly. We eliminate partiality by treating everyone impartially. 3/
The second is the world’s view of justice, which demands not that we cease showing partiality and desist from injustice and oppression, but that we continue to perpetrate injustice, partiality, and oppression, only in the opposite direction than has been done in the past. 4/
But oppressing the oppressors does not remove oppression; it perpetuates it. Partiality in favor of those previously mistreated does not eliminate partiality; it entrenches it. One might even say, “Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that.” 5/
It is incredibly disheartening that so many in the professing church today are embracing the world’s unjust definition of justice, and then blasphemously quoting Scripture as if to attribute it to God’s Word and God’s character. 6/
But you, Christ’s sheep, who hear His voice: reject the voice of the stranger.

Don’t be children in your thinking, but in your thinking be mature.

Don’t judge according to appearance, but judge with righteous judgment. 7/
Satan masquerades as an angel of light, and his servants disguise themselves as servants of righteousness.

Examine everything carefully.

Hold fast to what is good.

Abstain from every form of evil. 8/8
