In January 2019, TRUMP recognized Juan Guaidó as the interim president of Venezuela, & said the US would back him.

But, per JOHN BOLTON's book, Trump privately expressed reservations, saying:

“I’ve always said Maduro was tough. This kid [Guaidó] — nobody’s ever heard of him.”

DISTURBING REPORTS: A woman says her husband, a security guard at a Michigan store, was shot in the head after a dispute with a customer who refused to abide by the state's face-mask policy.

Among those to whom TRUMP could give a recess appointment under this plan could be his nominee to the @FEC, TREY TRAINOR.

* The FEC currently lacks a quorum to launch investigations & take enforcement actions headed into the 2020 election.
A WH official tells me that, if TRUMP uses his authority to adjourn Congress to make recess appointments, the focus of those appointments will be nominees who are "mission-critical to slowing the spread of COVID-19."

That would seem to rule out judges & @FEC nominee Trey Trainor
