Is project K.A.L.I really more capable than the laser weapons of the U.S. or China?
We can’t say that it’s more capable than what counterpart US and china has in their inventory but it’s quite as capable as their ones. We can say that it’s combat proven too, why?

On 7th april ,2012 in the below valley near siachen glacier which was occupied by Pak soldiers was buried beneath Destructive avalanche.According to sources more than 130 Pak soldiers were killed in that avalanche. A whole base ws wiped in a single avalanche frm that glacier

KALI 5000. (kilo ampere linear injector), a linear electron accelerator, basically a beam projecting weapon mounted on below or on the nose of the Fuselage of IL-76. Somewhat like this
3/n
Practically it could be mounted on any platform, but an air-force’s cargo aircraft was ideal as it carries the whole housing of power generation inside it.
4/n
Carrying all those assemblies on vehicles and then positioning it for projecting beam was a tedious task and could be dangerous for our forces too as it’s Heavy utilisation could cause avalanche for our troops too.
5/n
The beam was projected straight from the IL-76 at the glacier which caused the Ice to melt and created an avalanche.
It practically works like a Laser weapon, because it too fires a beam of focused wavelength.
6/n
KALI 5000 is intended to target and disable incoming Aerial threats like Aircraft, drone, IAV, ICBMs,etc, when aimed at enemy missiles and aircraft will cripple their electronic system and computer chips and bring them down right away.
7/n
We must also give credibility to those RAW, LASTEC and IAF officials who were in those aircrafts ( SU-30 Mk1s also accompanied IL-76).
What makes KALI more deadly is it’s versatility to be mounted on any platform, you can mount it on a 8x8 military truck, A naval Vessel Like
8/n
Frigate or a destroyer, etc
We can surely & safely conclude that KALI-5000 is wonder weapon of Indian military and is capable of more than what it looks.USA has also given it’s own share of beam weapons, laser beam ones to be precise. Their weapons are more varied and diverse

Their need for Laser weapons systems is much more defensive than offensive. It triggered a serious need when a patriot missile launcher shot down a drone worth few $1000 with a missile worth million $. So a cost effective alternative was required for aerospace defence.
10/n
Laser weapons fulfilled that requirement and are doing very great. Just like the IL-76 armed with KALI 5000, USAF also has Boeing 747 armed with a high energy laser weapon,
11/n
This Boeing 747 aka YAL-1 airborne laser. This thing has crippled and destroyed an ICBM in mid air. So pretty much capable.
They also have scaled down verisons of HEL ( high energy laser) for different operations,
Raytheon systems has created a full set of laser weapons
12/n
Oshkosh HEMTT mounted Medium range. This version can destroy mortar rounds, artillery shells MLRS rockets, UAVs and many incoming threats easily.
13/n
For close range ( to encounter swarm of drones)
14/n
For short range

15/n
CIWS mounted for naval defence
16/n
Ah-64 apache mounted
17/n
These systems are very promising and are performing very well in different tests, i think they are here for a foreseeable future and may become a very effective weapons system for defensive purposes and may be for offensive too.
