Let's clear up this Nestor Galban / Matt Gaetz mess, because the story is worse than you think. Lets run it back to ~2012

In ~2012 a hard drinking Matt Gaetz was sleeping with a young immigrant Cuban woman (how young????). This woman happened to have a brother in Cuba, AND a father in Miami.
The Gaetz family used their political connections and what Republicans refer to as "chain migration" to bring Nestor to the US under the care of his Father (on paper). However, in reality Nestor came and lived with his sister who was the live in lover of Gaetz (why hide this).
Nestor, and his sister, continued to live in Gaetz's residence in florida until 2017 when Gaetz was sleeping with interns in DC. Nestor's sister broke up with Gaetz and Nestor went to stay with his father in Miami.
Nestor's sister ran into some legal trouble and has been hiding from the law. So Nestor stayed there entirely for a couple years until he was 18.
There ya go. Matt Gaetz might be a great mentor to this Nestor, but he isn't a father, didn't raise him, and anyway has no idea what raising a black child as a black man is in America. However, it is 100% on brand for a Republican to THINK he knows what that is like.
