#infocomm20 Infocomm Connected A thread. 1.) Huge round 👏 to @AVIXA & staff for @InfoComm in the middle of a worldwide pandemic. Imagine the hard work, long hours, blood, sweat & tears. 3/30 the live show was canceled. What they pulled off in a little over 2 months is inspiring!
@DavidLabuskes @barbxG @joelloyd @AVteach101 @annetteindc @madsoundguy @SarahAVIXA @BGrimesDC @narinternet @megejackson Rachel B, Marcella W, DeAnna H, Leslie R. I know I'm missing a ton, but all of you @AVIXA are rockstars!!! Thank you for all you've done and continue to do!
As a session speaker the experience was superb. Communications went out early. We had a site with helpful tools. A quick webinar with great info. We did a dry run with an Avixa member. Going live was comfortable, organized, easy, & fun! Everyone was so accommodating! #infocomm20
As an attendee I loved the networking site. Was it perfect, no? Could it have been better sure, but here's what I liked about it. I was able to connect with vendor peeps I may have not talked to in a while. Just like I do at live IC! I found the site easy to navigate. #InfoComm20
Attendee: I loved that I could control who I wanted to chat with or who I wanted to skip. (Sorry I skipped some peeps) In person you might get grabbed into a booth and get stuck talking to someone, while you're running late to something else. #infocomm20
I could see how this might be problem for exhibitor, but as an attendee it was kinda great. 1-1 video calls were fun, but also recognized that may not be best use of time for my vendors, so I tried to be accommodating & schedule a L&L w my whole team later where it made sense.
As far as the virtual booths TBH I only looked at one. 🤦‍♀️ I do plan on going back & checking out more, but just like live IC my main goal is networking, connecting w #avtweeps, establishing report, and deepening relationships. I felt I was able to accomplish that at #infocomm20
#infocomm20 Obvi the trvia and #avhappyhour were so super fun and something that IC live couldn't really deliver in the same way. Sure you can go to a bar or party, and in person is better in some ways but I felt more comfortable in the
organized chaos of the online events. As someone who has lived w anxiety my entire life it was nice to just have fun w others & not worry about what I was wearing, drinking too much or not enough, or if some drunk dude was gonna be a problem, getting back to my hotel safely etc.
Sessions: I enjoyed every single one I watched. The chat was 🔥 Also the content seemed like what you'd get at Center Stage live IC; Always felt like I would miss a lot of those! So this format was more convenient and I picked up tons of incredible nuggets of wisdom. #infocomm20
Sessions: My fav was Cuz I love you too tour. Wow. All the feels. I still haven't fully processed everything I loved about it. I will cherish that session. I have so many things I want to say about it. It's one of those things that if you're having a bad day you go back and watch
My other fav sessions: Tues Keynote, Almost Famous(best chat by far!) 😂, 7 things Future Workplace, Democratization of Control, Boosting Your Brand (MUST SEE 👀 ), How AV can give back, Hidden Gems 10x10. What were your must-sees? #avtweeps #infocomm20
Thanks for coming to my Ted Talk! 😂 In conclusion, my expectations were pretty high. I was really excited for #infocomm20 and AVIXA knocked it out of the park!
