When I'd report from rallies in 2016, Trump supporters would tell me constantly that they wanted to hurt liberals and any protesters who might show up.
They talked openly about wanting to kill people, brutalize them, about carrying out violent revolutions.

I used to get a lot of criticism from people who didn't want to believe what was actually happening within the Trump movement or believe that fascism was a possibility.
These people didn't hide what they felt or what they believed. They wanted fascism. They were desperate for it

I watched people get attacked, intimidated, stalked, and just brutalized during the 2016 Election. The people I talked to wanted more and they openly fantasized about growing violence and the opportunity to hurt people.
We could see that this weekend. It's a real possibility.

What I'm not sure people understand is that Trump's movement is based on perceived loss of power and perceived persecution. When the national mood shifts against them, and it definitely has, the potential for violence and bloodshed increases.
