Figma is build with a variety of technology. The editor in particular leverages GPU processing using WebGL and efficient memory management and CPU processing via C++ to WASM. This is done as a sort of layered stack:
The UI on top is built in TypeScript and leverages all the fantastic technologies web browser provide for UI, like efficient partial updates, rich user input, etc. This layered model allows us to iterate quickly while maintaining a high quality bar.
