Without an economic message for his rally, Trump's whole address is disjointed. He's gone from "fake news" toc"law & order" to judges to tax cuts. Says Biden isn't aware of what state he's in. Talks about energy production & railing about AOC. Back to a law & order theme
/2 Trump is railing about Seattle and how it will all fall apart. He's mentioned the "Chinese virus" and coronavirus pandemic only in passing.
/3 Trump gets applause for saying "Chinese virus." Trump blames the media for not giving him credit for response to coronavirusTrump: "They don't say but we - I have done a phenomenal job... I saved hundreds of thousands of lives but we get hardly a mention."
/4 Trump now call for opening schools. "Open the school please." Now Trump is talking about monuments and how "the left-wing mob" wants "to demolish our heritage so they can impose their new regime in its place."
/5 Trump: "You are so lucky I'm president. That's all I can tell you."
/6 Trump is complaining about how "fake news" raised questions about his ponderous walk down a ramp at West Point. Lot of explaining here.
/7 This is an amazing passage here. Trump: "There is no way I can make it down that ramp without falling on my ass."
/8 Trump: "I can't fall with the fake news watching." He cites examples where Gerald Ford & George H.W. Bush fell and were sick on camera. "I would've been better off if I fell and slid down the damn ramp."
/9 This goes to so much about Trump's image & how he sees himself. Just fascinating. He's spent 10 minutes on this & literally nothing on the economic challenges facing the nation or the tens of thousands of dead during pandemic.
/10 Trump: "I let you know if there's something wrong with our president. There's something wrong with Biden." Now going on to explain how he had difficulty raising his arm to drink a glass of water during his West Point speech.
/11 Trump calls for a 1-year jail sentence for anyone who burns the American flag.
/12 Trump on Biden: "Do you know what he says to his wife when he's not confusing his wife for his sister? 'Get me the hell out of here! These people are crazy.'' More: "If Biden is elected, he will surrender the country to these mobsters."
/13 Trump on Biden: "Joe Biden is not the leader of his party. He's the radical puppet of the radical left."

15 Trump has basically ignored the economic crisis facing the U.S. & the death toll from the panel. Trump devoted the biggest portion of his speech to how he walked down the ramp at West Point. There's some asides questioning Biden's fitness from office.
/16 Trump: "The choice in 2020 is very simple - do you want to bow before the left-wing mob or do you want to stand up tall & proud as Americans?"
/17 Trump: "Joe Biden's record can be summed up as four decades of betrayal, calamity and failure."
/18 Trump sums up his attack lines on Biden (beyond Biden's "confusion"): "When the chips are down, Biden will always bow to the radical left ... Joe Biden will always let you down... Biden is always on the wrong side of history."
/19 Trump complains about the Supreme Court. "It's almost like a minority court."
/20 Trump is an hour into his speech & he's said almost nothing about the economic/unemployment crisis facing the nation or the ongoing coronavirus pandemic with tens of thousands of dead Americans.
/21 Trump is spending a lot of time bashing a freshman representative in Congress. @aoc has been in Congress for 18 months.
/22 Trump: "America should not take lectures on racial justice from Joe Biden."
/23 Trump: "I've done more for the black community in four years than Joe Biden has done in 47 years. Racial justice begin with the Joe Biden's retirement from public life."
/24 Trump finally is talking about the economy. Trump's lament: "They blame a president for everything... We're not going to be where we, but other than all the horrible, horrible death, which should've been stopped... in China."
/25 Here is Trump's economic message - next year is gonna be great & Dems will crush you with more taxes: "You don't have the guts to vote against Trump."
/26 If Trump had started with his economic remarks, this rally would've made more sense.
/27 Nothing in this speech about the unemployed. Nothing in this speech about tens of thousands of victims of the coronavirus pandemic.
/28 If Republican leaders were looking for a message that will help them in November, they didn't get it here
