During the covid19 crisis 'the positive professor' Karol Sikora, CMO of Rutherford Cancer Centres, has been promoting his private interests.
On 11th May he tweeted: "can we please stop with the 'packed beaches' headlines?" 
At the same time his company Rutherford Plc's press release stated "We "need good interaction at senior level between independent cancer networks and the NHS to increase diagnostic and treatment capacity"
On the 25th May he tweeted: "Many seem to suggest 100% of people in other countries are following the rules - of course they aren't!

On that day his company sent out this press release announcing a deal with NHS Shared Business Services stating his company can now "provide cancer treatment services on demand [to] any NHS Trust at a pre-agreed set of prices".

On the 2nd of June, he tweeted: "There's so much we don't understand about how it's [our immune system] dealing with this virus. I suspect this will turn out to be a positive thing."
Also on the 2nd of June his company sent this out. Sikora is quoted as saying the way to prevent a cancer backlog was through "a national effort which includes coordination from the government and collaboration from the public and independent sectors"
He goes on to say: "We should utilise all capacity in the independent sector for screening, diagnosis and treatment. This should include advanced cancer treatments such as high energy proton beam therapy."
"Our network of Rutherford Cancer Centres for example have been treating more NHS cancer patients with conventional treatments such as chemotherapy over the past two months. Such collaborations may need to be scaled up significantly in order to bring the backlog under control"
Accompanying all press releases is the information promoting Rutherford Service. Proton Beam therapy is a key product.
