Trump/Barr fired SDNY US Attorney Berman without cause & are trying to install Jay Clayton, who formerly represented Deutsche Bank - currently being investigated by SDNY! Clayton was NEVER a prosecutor and is going to take over one of the most important prosecutorial offices
in the country? This would be like a hospital putting a podiatrist in charge of the neurosurgery unit. Yes, Bolton is an unpatriotic profiteer, but that does not detract from the fact that he revealed that Trump promised Turkish President Erdogan that he would “take care of”
the Halkbank case (Turkish-owned bank being prosecuted by SDNY) as soon as he could get rid of “the Obama people” at the SDNY and “put his own people” in. This is presidential corruption writ large. And Barr is in it up to his neck. #ImpeachBarr

Think about this: Bolton’s book comes out revealing that he told Barr about Trump’s crimes. Barr buried that information! It’s no coincidence that Barr, upon the release of the Bolton info, tried to oust SDNY US Attorney Jeff Berman. In fact, Barr lied and said Berman resigned.
Berman immediately announced he has NOT resigned & has no plans on resigning. Barr is trying to oust Berman and install a non-prosecutor to take over, Jay Clayton, to oversee all investigations and prosecutions in SDNY. Trump & Barr are trying to fire their way out of criminal
liability. Trump and Barr are firing people in an attempt to cover up their crimes. Barr is playing a dangerous game of chicken with Berman. HOPEFULLY, in Berman, Barr may have met his match . . . Stay tuned, as the viability of our system of justice hangs in the balance.

of prosecutorial power. Rule 48(a) was designed to guard against dubious dismissals of criminal cases that would benefit powerful and well-connected defendants.” Bingo!
“The rule empowers courts to protect the integrity of their own proceedings from prosecutors who undertake corrupt, politically motivated dismissals . . . That is what happened here.” Exactly.

It seems Judge Walton is not persuaded that the redactions are appropriate/necessary. One issue may be that, if the redactions involve ongoing investigations, Judge Walton may need additional information about the status of those investigations before he can decide whether any
disclosures would interfer with those investigations. The fact that he wants DOJ to set aside three days is intriguing. Sounds to me like Judge Walton may be ordering DOJ to bring more witnesses in to provide direct information rather than take one DOJ lawyer’s word. A wise
approach give the Judge Walton concluded previously that Bill Barr lacks candor. Stay tuned . . .
