Russia's MBT types, photogrpahed by Vitaly from @RecoMonkey who capture fantastic imagery we use at Janes. The images taken at the 18th June night rehearsals for the Victory Day Parades. Here the T-90M. Image
First up the T-72B3 mod. 2016. A deep modernisation of T-72 that fits new armament and mission systems, enahnces protection with additional ERA modules, and bar armour and new V92S2 powerpack. Note this is not the same as T-72B3M despite names commonly used interchangeably Image
T-80BVM. Upgraded in a number of areas over T-80B, including Relikt in place of Kontakt-1, uprated GTD-1250TF gas turbine, new 1G46-2 gunner's sight and Sosna-U combined sight for gunner/copmmander. Image
T-90M. Incorporates some of the modernised mission systems designed for the T-14 MBT variant of the Armata family but applied to the proven T-90 design. Image
T-14. Russia's latest MBT, still in trials. Unmanned turret with 3-man crew in a 'citadel' below the glacis. Soft and hard-kill APS. Heaviest and largest Russian MBT @ 49t, still 15-20t less than a typical Western equivalent. Image
Here a good demonstration of the size differential between T-14 and T-90. Also see old image of T-90M, showing the radically different turret design from precursor T-90A. ImageImage
Again a H/T to @RecoMonkey, great resource for Russian kit spotters. More threads by equipment type to come.
