We have just one SCOTUS opinion today, Liu v. SEC, which is not one of the blockbusters you are all waiting for. supremecourt.gov/opinions/19pdf…
You are all hereby ordered to do something fun and pleasant before the next SCOTUS opinion day (probably Thursday) and report back in the terror minutes before 10 a.m. so we can compare notes and distract ourselves from the overwhelming sense of impending doom.
SCOTUS‘ calendar only lists one more opinion day for the whole term: next Monday. But there are 14 cases left! Last week the court scheduled a Thursday opinion day, and I suspect it will again this week to clear its plate some more, but we don't know yet.
It's always fun explaining to my colleagues when we can expect SCOTUS opinions in June. "On Mondays, and likely Thursdays in the back half of the month, but maybe also ... not? And possibly a Friday?" This year, we have the added bonus of probable (but unconfirmed) July opinions!
