I love a good product experiment! @Zecca_Lehn suggested that we create the 1st ever async podcast. It was like having an audio pen pal for 10 days. We covered the definition of awesome, world-positive investing, different types of capital... Teaser thread👇breaker.audio/posi2ive/e/662…
/ The founders I invest in are intrinsically motivated to make the world a better place. They're fanatically obsessed with their problem space. They're also all honest, genuine, authentic, and awesome humans.
/ There are many types of capital that can make the world a better place (impact funds, grants, donations, SMB loans, VC...). VC is a very specific financial product, designed for a very specific type of company. Founders should understand the VC game before trying to raise.
/ If you're a founder and you don't already have a network in tech, find a way to join the conversation and meet people online. Reach out to folks on Twitter, join startup Slack communities, participate in forums. The internet is here to help.
/ I love remote work and no code tools because they make tech more accessible. Remote work allows people to access quality jobs from around the world. No code tools enable anyone to start a company online. 10 years ago building things online required engineers and $$$.
/ Gen Z is leading the solopreneurship trend. 50% of Gen Z already works for themselves (freelancers, creators, gig workers). People are optimizing for freedom, flexibility, and fulfillment. Or as @annimaniac says, participating in the "Purpose Economy."
/ To further unlock solopreneurship individuals need more ways to make $, predictable cash flow, affordable health insurance, and tools to run a “business of one.” This includes new creator platforms, marketplaces, back-office tools...
/ Superpowers. Double down on your superpowers. Also, be compassionate, honest, and listen to people. We all have a lot to give and a lot to learn.
