Turns out @portsmouthsu requested a week's extension so @PortsEngLitSoc students cd respond to redundancy proposals ... but @portsmouthuni didn't tell UPSU or students about the (2 day?!) extension, and didn't tell @PortsmouthUcu or @UOP_EngLit staff that this had been requested.
Instead the Interim Dean told @UOP_EngLit staff that the extension (which began *after* the consultation period closed) was "a result of matters raised at the consultation meeting [with @portsmouthucu @ucu] on the 18th June"... only they didn't mention the restart to UCU.
Bear with us, it's not over...

Then, 20 minutes before the end of the 2-day extension, the Interim Dean of @UoPHumSS @portsmouthuni sent a *new* consultation document to @ucu (but not @UOP_EngLit staff) full of additional misrepresentations & inaccuracies.
Don't forget these @portsmouthuni "vision" statements folks:
"We work consultatively and collaboratively"
"We share ideas and maintain transparency"
"We are trustworthy and do what we say we will do"
"We listen and respond to the needs of our students and staff"
Why, we wonder, is @portsmouthuni making such basic errors in communication? Are they acting in bad faith, or just trusting the process to incompetent managers?

What do you think @RoehamptonUCU @BirminghamUCU @sussexucu @NewcastleUniUCU @ucu @portsmouthsu ?

@UOP_EngLit @PortsEngLitSoc students have been brilliant at getting *their* communications right.

Perhaps the Interim Dean of @UoPHumSS should have done an #EnglishLiterature degree...
