Jotting this down my experience and the observation i have of the Honey Bees and the Bee Hive yesterday where in i could learn couple of things from the illiterate person who had come to collect the fodder for his cattles from the backyard of our home.
On seeing the beehive in the Lemon Tree he said we can taste some pure honey today. With his Sickle tied to a wooden rod he just brought down the trunk of tree cracking. That was the point when the poor bees were suddenly disturbed from their usual daily work early in the morning
It took just 2-3 minutes for the bees to disperse from the place but as every parent has attachment to its children a few gathered again and check out what really happened and where did there hive go off before coming to the loss that was inflicted on them by we the human beings
Coming back to the illiterate person ,he made me take a clear look at the bee hive and he started explaining. He divided the hive in 2 parts. The Bottom part was the place where the bees took care of their children on after birth just like 'Handle with Care' & all the holes filled
The Top Part of Hive was the one of our use.He guided rather directed me how Honey is to be squeezed from Hive.He actually made me know the style of storing Honey.
I was shown the Holes which were Clear & majority closed. He said the closed holes were the ones filled with Honey
The next act was collecting honey in a pan. This was the 1st time I was going to see and taste the Pure Honey. The more the hive was crushed the more the honey gathered in the Pan.This had to be filtered a couple of times to get clean n clear Pure Honey. It was just interesting
After almost an Hour and half it was 2 small bottles filled with Pure Honey which mattered n the result it was.The satisfaction was that we would be tasting ' Gavthi ,Pure Honey ' unlike the one being bought.
There was another important and emotional lesson to be learnt from the
Illiterate person( we call but was more literate than us ).He requested us not to the throw the Bottom Part of Hive on Road or in Dustbin. The reason was not to throw the younger bees which might be hurt by dogs or killed.A minor thing but of higher importance in caring the bees
On one hand had the satisfaction of getting Pure Honey but the other side was what a selfish act of destroying the beehive for our taste. The whole production with Hardworking, Dedication and Discipline was done by Bees and the End Product was being tasted by we Human Beings.
However that was a good,1st hand experience in collecting Honey, processing it and getting the finished product completed in less than 2 hours where as the Bees worked for Days to get the Honey Filled.
