20 years ago my friend and I had toys but couldn't figure out a game to go with them. 8 months ago I had an epiphany an researched tabletop games for a solution and I discovered #WarhammerCommunity ,
Which helped me home brew a glorious night of fun as I played... #FisherPrice40k
Set in an exotic, magical world 40,000 years ago; powerful kingdoms recruit mercenaries in their conquest of rivals and dragons.

Tonight sir Arthur and his gold knights aided by an acolyte of Zeus

Battle black raiders protected by the mysterious powers of the necromancer!
In a climatic battle Sir Arthur calls on his summer berserkers and Winter warriors

To counter the mighty dragon raiders and Robin hood and his merry men
However valor and skill will not be enough for this battle and each king calls on their cavalry commanders to join the battle

The seige captain and jousting knights respond to Arthur's call and the sheriff and his man join the raiders
As the two kingdoms track the mighty dragons to their nest both sides initially claim a dragon and begin a mad rush to the center for the as yet unclaimed dragon.
I'll transition a little to more of a game play recap from last night.

Robin hood an his men and the black knights delt first blood killing 4 gold knights.

At the beginning of my turn I flank his men on both sides leaving 4 men back to guard my dragon
The battle roll results and the troop formation ended up being a really cool+ accidental recreation of the battle of Cannae

Killing the first unit of the night earning me 2 points for the kill
After round 1
Nathan and I have scored 1 point a peice claiming a dragon on our sides of the table and I got 2 for killing a unit. Score 3-1

Nathan moves his cavalry and dragon raiders to attack my cavalry from behind .
Robin hood and his men attack and deal 2 wounds to my wizard and the dragon raiders/his sheriff cavalry deal a wound to one of my jousters
My cavalry and winter warriors use their abilities to run past his troops and engage his black knights guarding his dragon.

The rolls are solid and dealt 4 kills to the 6 Knights. The king's high morale kept them from fleeing the field.
Nathan finished the job on my central gold knights but my summer berserkers were too close and contested to dragon keeping him from scoring a point for this dragon and his dragon which is contested my by cavalry

End of round 2 score 4-1
Final round 3 begins I finish my assault on his rearguard and claim his dragon earning 2 points for the unit kill and 2 points for the dragon claims.
Nathan moves his cavalry to atk my rearguard and gets 2 points for the unit kill an a point for the dragon claim

his raiders an merry men go for broke to kill the center dragon dealing 1 wound

The dragons counter atk wipes out the merry men and leaves the raiders with 1 wound
At the end of the game I won by points 8-4 😁

Nathan just had some bad rolls in his round 2 attack and couldnt claim the central dragon.

I had beta tested but didn't know how things would go once the rubber hit the road.
June 26th was my 31st birthday and I count myself blessed to be able to spend it with friends and play this game for the first time

Plus I got to fulfill a dream and saw my childhood imagination come to life 😁

Thank you #WarhammerCommunity and @Massawyrm for the inspiration 🤘
