...we have a government that has already demonstrated gross negligence and incompetence in its response to the pandemic, and which is now eagerly leading the country towards a health disaster that will be worse than the one we have just experienced, and have yet to emerge from.
...A government of hollow men and women devoid of talent and vision & so fanatically loyal to the Great Leader and so desperate to ‘get Brexit done’ that they are prepared to play chicken with the EU and risk the lives and health of millions of the people who voted for them...
All this, at a time when they should be doing everything they can to repair the social and economic damage we have already suffered, to mitigate and prepare for the concatenation of emergencies bearing down on the NHS this winter.
It simply beggars belief that this is happening, and that the opposition and the country are not crying out for an extension to the transition period. Because if we don’t get one, by the end of this year we may find that the NHS we have been clapping for is heading for collapse.
And we will have become a country that sacrificed the lives and health of its population on the altar of ‘sovereignty’ and ‘control’, and wilfully chose to make a bad situation a thousand times worse.
