One would hope that when an enemy emerged, who was intent on destroying our country, that all Americans would drop any labels and unite to eliminate the threat.
Historically, the enemy was external, a force threatening our way of life. Hitler, Stalin, Mussolini, Imperial

Japan. Those that meant to rule the world. We responded - black, white, asian, hispanic, native American, all as one. As one nation, we defeated all threats.

A new threat has risen to our nation, this one from within our shores. A black hearted grifter, a charlatan, a common

thug, who means to destroy our democracy, and restrict our freedoms, to become a dictator. Foreign powers conspired to get him elected. He is not legitimate.

But he divided our nation, deeply, with intolerance, bigotry and hateful rhetoric. In that division, he stole the

Republican Party, and warped it from the party of family values and conservative Christianity, and small government into a hate spewing, xenophobic, intolerant racist regime, unrecognizable to traditional Republicans.

Seemingly overnight, the conservative voices of the

GOP switched from rejecting Trump as a xenophobic, race baiting, womanizing, hate filled bully, to falling in line with his agenda 100%. It was shocking, it was disgusting, but it was complete.
Good men and women of the respected Senate, the people who are supposed to be the

wise leaders, with the good of the nation in their hearts, betrayed the people for a tyrant. For power. They pushed down the bile that rose up in their throats, and consciously, deliberately, voluntarily lined up behind a broken man, desperate for adoration and cruel as an

executioner. A man who cared not for anyone but himself, who would stoop so low as to cut off medical assistance to a disabled relative, to battle for inheritance.
That is the GOP that has emerged. They wave off his outrageous behavior and his hateful words as Trump being Trump.

They stand by, silent, as he calls for police to dominate the streets, gassing, shooting rubber bullets, and beating the crap out of peaceful protesters. And they say nothing when evidence arises that Trump knew that our troops were targets for assassins, paid by Russians.

And he pretended not to have been briefed by intelligence, him being the Commander In Chief? They betrayed America, and broke their oaths, to acquit Trump in the Impeachment Trial that was rigged before it even started. McConnell admitted as much, as did Graham.

The GOP has lost the moral high ground. They are bottom feeders just like Trump, who have given up their responsibility to protect and defend the Constitution against all enemies, foreign and domestic. They have sold their souls to a man with an empty soul, one who craves

power and submission from all who serve him. He does not see himself as serving the people, he sees himself as above them, superior to them, and cares not for them at all, but for their votes.
The @GOP have made their choice, to throw their lot in with an unhinged tyrant.

Since they will not acknowledge his failings and invoke the 25th Amendment to save our nation from ruin, it will fall to the @HouseDemocrats to #ImpeachTrumpAgain to expose him as the corrupt despot, the cruel tyrant that he is. Should they fail to live up to there role as the

defender of the republic, they will be cast as the cowards who stood by while a dictator rose among us.

America needs both parties to work together to remove this malignancy from the heart of our nation. Both the 25th amendment and/or impeachment will require a cooperative

effort. In that cooperation, neither party can be blamed, nor can either party take credit, for extracting the poison that is Donald John Trump from our midst. Poetically, it will be the will of the people themselves that will rip him from office, in the nick of time, just before

his final sprint to absolute power. The nation can then attend to the healing of our democracy, and defeating CV-19 with a unified effort, rather than fighting science with falsehoods and quack internet conspiracies.

put aside the party line rhetoric and fear mongering and name calling in order to save what is truly precious to all Americans? Can you reach across the aisle, recognizing that we are facing, in Donald Trump, the greatest threat to our nation since Hitler? There is no shame

in admitting the danger he brings. It is imminent, and it will destroy us, if you choose to continue to fight each other, rather than our common enemy. Please save us from a madman.
