More details about newly wed Abi.

The lady is from his own home town (Koshigaya, Saitama), and is 3 years his junior. "She knew me in school but I didn't know her".

She was introduced to him by a common acquaintance. "She knows many people I know so it was easy to talk to her". They have been going out for 3 years (since he got the Makushita yusho).

He proposed to her at home, "How about getting married? How about tying the knot?" Her reply was "mmmm". "Well, we have been going out for quite a while".

They waited until she graduated from vocational school to get married. They registered early (June 24) "for no particular reason. But it's better be done before the basho. Mid-basho would interfere mentally".

The lady's good point are apparently (a) she doesn't meddle in his work or in Sumo. (b) she can cook the stuff he likes. "I asked for spaghetti and she made a tasty Japanese-style thing. Also gave me salad. Probably thinking about my health".

He also updates about his Sumo life. He commutes every day, and says Shikoroyama oyakata advised him to take a shower as soon as he gets home from any outing. "Just commuting to the heya and back is two showers a day".

He says he *tries* to avoid outside contact as much as he can. He reveals that the Shikoroyama rikishi have been divided into two groups and do keiko in shifts. "We wash our hands and gargle after every bout".

He still has a lower back injury that bothers him, but rather than spend too much time at hospital (?), he resorts to doing careful stretches for it.

He practices seriously ("It wouldn't do to have a make-koshi right after tying the knot").
