Slavery existed in the kingdoms of ancient Mesopotamia, Egypt, Persia. The Roman Empire, the Chinese dynasties, the Mali Kingdom, the Mongol Khanates. It has existed up to the 19th century where men said no! We are equal! But still it persists to this day. 7/
In visible ways it persists in Sudan as slaves to families and groups from captured rivals and in more subtle ways as in sex trafficking all over the world from Bangkok to New York City! We must all as a society keep fighting to end it. 8/
No, these men were not perfect, but they set up a system of government that has created a country that has rivaled no other! A country that lists as the NUMBER ONE most immigrated to country in the world. Because those people see opportunity, they see freedom, they see safety. 9/
