He is the author of series of leading books on the biographies of the Ahl al-Bayt called Min al-Mahd Ila al-Lahd (From the Cradle to the Grave). He was born in Karbala on 13 March, 1930. He studied in the seminary of Karbala.

He had to migrate twice in his life, once in 1973 to Kuwait and then in 1980 to Qum, Iran where he stayed for the rest of his life. He founded the Islamic Publishing Association in Karbala who has printed large amount of Islamic books.
al-Qazwini was married to Fatima al-Shirazi, the daughter of grand Ayatollah Mirza Mahdi al-Shirazi.
He fathered five sons, who are all clerics, and three daughters.

He died on Nov 17, 1994 in Qom & was buried there under the pulpit of Hussainiya. However, he had declared in his will, when it was possible, his corpse be transferred to Karbala, to be reburied, as that was his initial wish, but it was impossible due to the Baathis regime.
One of the most important book he authored was “Fatima Zahra: From Birth to Martyrdom”. This book is considered a source in the Fatimid culture. According to his will, the book was placed over the dead body of his eminence Seyed Mohammad Kazem Qazwini.
On May 8, 2011, after 17 years later the body was uncovered to be moved to Holy Karbala, the body was found clean as if it was buried yesterday. Eventually, Ayatollah Qazwini's' body was buried in Karbala near the Imam Hussein Holy Shrine.

We need more people like Ayatollah al-Qazwini. Before we call ourselves Shia, we should think about our deeds. These are the people who deserves to be called Shain e Ali. Please learn to spend the life in the way of Allah & 14 infallibles from the progeny of Prophet Mohammad (s).
