We are on-boarding dozens of organizers today at @OHDems

Was fired up to welcome them. They...and we all...have an opportunity to both end this ghastly Trump nightmare and end gerrymandering in one election. Simply by turning Ohio blue.

Never have the stakes been higher.

But we've got to go for broke.

We've got to win big! And no poll, no matter how big a lead it shows, should slow us down from delivering the largest ass-kicking imaginable, in as many states as possible, by as much as possible.

Why?

Four reasons...

1. Trump, Barr, Putin & their minions will do everything in their power to suppress the vote. To make election day look like Georgia and Milwaukee. The further down they are, the more this will be their tactic

We must build such a big lead that even those tactics won't work

2. Any close race, they will try to contest afterward. If we win by a slim electoral point lead due to close outcomes in a few states, they will try to overturn the election.

But when we turn Ohio, Florida, Georgia, Iowa, NC and other states blue, they'll be no doubt.

3. This is bigger than an electoral outcome. This has to be a statement about who we are. One loud and long-remembered message.

This has to be a rejection of Trumpism and Trump so resounding, that even the GOP cowards and enablers like @senrobportman get the message....

That being: that a president who tweets "white power" and refers to white supremacists as fine people, and acts upon this deep racism in almost everything he does; who consorts with the enemy against the interests of troops in the field; who exhibits misogyny nearly daily;

...who tries to divide us at every turn along every line of division he can dream up; who lies to us daily; whose narcissism and sociopathy has led to the needless death of thousands; who attacks our most basic constitutional principles daily; who corrupts all he touches...

...and whose every word and action undermines the standing in the world our nation sacrificed time, treasure and countless lives building..

Yes, the message has to be that any president who exhibits all this and more will be so soundly rejected by the voters, everywhere...

..that not only will no one dare to exhibit Trumpism again, but the spineless enablers whose instinct is to go along w such nonsense will in the future be MORE AFRAID of the backlash from doing nothing in the face of Trumpism than they currently are of a mean tweet if they do

...and the best way to do that is not only to rout Trump, but to knock out all those up for re-election who have enabled all of it...which means wins by the likes of @harrisonjaime @GreenfieldIowa @SaraGideon and others, and in states like Ohio...

....it means helping Congressional candidates like @ShannonFreshour @KateForCongress @TimsDesiree @HillaryMueri & all the others, who are taking on the Jordans & Chabots of the world who, from their rigged districts, cheer on Trump's depraved words and actions...

You want to send a message that changes behavior?

Send those who've sold their souls to remain in power, such as Turner or Wenstrup, into surprising, early retirement...that will teach a whole generation to stand up the next time someone comes around preaching birtherism...

4. And finally, this is beyond even our country.

The world is watching. The world is judging.

They are wondering what the hell happened to our country.

It's a pretty damn good question.

To remove ourselves from pariah status, and get to work again with democracies everywhere, we need the world to see that we reject Trumpism as decisively as they do.

A close election by a few points doesn't do that.

Kicking ass everywhere does.
