SCORE CARDS: Arizona just told hospitals they can implement the Crisis Standards of Care Plan.

This means doctors may have to decide who lives, who dies

This means they will be able to decide who gets what level of care.

It’s all numbers, and algorithms.
My exchange w/ gov:
Repost without typo*

This is the first page of the 14-page addendum to the Crisis Standards of Care plan.
This is the "Score Card" chart or "color chart" that will decide what level of care you will get inside a hospital.

This is all based on math, algorithms.
If it comes down to 2 or more patients, and there's a SINGLE resource.

Here's some of the considerations: Pediatric patients, first responders/ healthcare workers, single caretakers of minors, pregnant patients.
The fact we have heard: we have hospital capacity.

This is not the type of hospital care we should want.

Doctors should not have to possibly decide who lives, who dies.
This is the full addendum: azdhs.gov/documents/prep…

I am told not all hospitals are implementing this yet, but the ones that need to operate at the crisis level can.

This also provides some liability protections for healthcare workers that have to make the difficult decisions
Here is the reminder that decisions should not be based on ‘stereotypes.’
